The Nerve and Muscle Center of Texas is now offering telehealth visits as another way to stay in contact with us. The service allows existing patients to get the care they need, when they need it, without coming to the clinic.
There are times when it will be necessary to come in-person for the doctor to properly evaluate you.
How It Works
Step 1: Request a Telehealth Visit
Please feel free to visit the contact page and leave a message with your name, phone number, and reason for the call. Expect a call back from us within one working day to schedule a telehealth appointment if you qualify. Let us know if you prefer Zoom, Facetime or a phone call. If you have an iPhone, then facetime may be the easiest way to conduct a televisit.
You may want to sign up with zoom for free at https://zoom.us/.
Make sure to be familiar with whatever method you choose before the visit.
Dr. Shaibani will email you an invitation to your listed email with us just before the visit, so make sure that you have access to that email if you want to use Zoom. If you want to use a different email, let us know.
Step 2: Your televisit will be confirmed the day before
An office representative will call you the day before to confirm your televisit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use the virtual visit option? Our telehealth service is an option for most patients. Sometimes in-person visits are the best option for you in which case we will need to schedule a face-to-face appointment in our office.
When can I schedule my telehealth appointment? Telehealth appointments need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. At this time, televisits are done on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What types of visits can be done virtually? Telemedicine is appropriate for a variety of care needs such as follow up visits, chronic disease management, medication management and reviewing tests or lab results. If you’re unsure if a virtual visit is a good option for you, contact us.
Does insurance cover my virtual visit? Most major commercial and Medicare health plans cover telehealth visits the same way they cover in-person visits. The Nerve and Muscle Center of Texas checks for eligibility and benefits for each patient before each visit.
What payments are due at a virtual visit? All co-pays, co-insurance amounts and deductible amounts will need to be collected prior to your televisit. These amounts vary per insurance policy but will be the same as they are if you were coming into our office.
Who can I call for help? The web site is the most effective way to leave a message. However, if need to reach us urgently, please call the answering service at 2814539414. For emergencies, call 911.
