I have dermatomyocits. It has been at least 5 years now. They seem to have it undercontrol now. A few years ago I almost died when it had started to effect my blood platelets so the Doctors decided to put me on a chemo called rituxan. It and the IVIG have litteraly kept me alive over the last two years. This is considered experimental treatment. It works. I can do more it seems each day. My muscle strength (especially in my legs) has improved drastically.
